Download Moonpatrol

The game is available as .jar (a java executable).
  1. install java 17 or later if you don't have it already
  2. download the game
  3. extract the zip
  4. under Windows/Mac you can start the game via double click on the jar.

You have to install java 17 or later so the game runs on your device.
If you set java 17 as your default java version you can start the game by double click on the .jar.
Take in mind that since version 4.5.0 you can't use java version 8 (jre) by Oracle anymore.
The game won't run.

Download the .msi version and during the installation process also set to update JAVA_HOME.
This will make java 17 your new default java version.
In 99% of the cases your system has x64 architecture.

Download the .pkg version and if asked during the installation process also set to update JAVA_HOME.
This will make java 17 your new default java version.
If you have a Mac with Apple Chip use AArch64 architecture. If you have an Intel CPU take x64.

This way is for users that are familiar with the console. It uses package manager 'Homebrew'. After installing via Homebrew don't forget to link java 17 as your new default.
